Payments
What forms of payment do you accept?
We currently accept all major credit cards as well as payments made through Paypal, Stripe, and more. Payment methods may vary depending on which country you are from. All of our payment options will be displayed on our checkout page.
What if my payment method didn't work?
We are sorry to hear! Please double check that all of your information is correct, including your billing and shipping address. If that still doesn't work, please contact your bank or payment provider. If you still have an issue, send us a message through our contact form and we will try our best to help!
Do you offer discount codes?
Yes! Sign up for emails and texts to receive exclusive offers and discounts. Subscribe to emails to receive 10% off your first order or to texts to receive 15% off your first order plus a FREE mystery gift! We may also randomly offer special flash discounts through our social media pages, so be sure to give us a follow!
Where can I enter my discount code?
You can enter your discount code in a box during checkout under your order summary.
Shipping
What Shipping Methods Are Available?
We send our packages through USPS First-Class mail (now renamed to Ground Advantage) for quick shipping times. For international packages, we also ship through USPS First-Class International. Please leave a note at checkout if you want signature delivery.
What are shipping times and costs?
In the United States
Order processing time is 1-2 business days and shipping time is 2-7 business days if you are in the US.
Shipping is FREE on orders of $65 or more (before tax). Otherwise, shipping is a small fee of $5.90.
Please note we are not responsible for any unforeseen shipping delays on the courier's end or for lost packages. ShipAid protects your package in case of theft or damages.
International
Order processing time is 1-2 business days. Shipping time varies by country but is usually between 7-15 working days.
Shipping is FREE on orders of $250 or more (before tax). Otherwise, shipping varies by country (usually $15-$25).
Please note we are not responsible for any unforeseen shipping delays on the courier's end or due to delays at customs. The buyer is also responsible for any customs fees that may occur, although this is very rare and unlikely.
Will I have to pay for international tax and duties?
Yes, some countries may be subject to import duties and costs, although this is rare. Unfortunately we cannot control these costs and it is the responsibility of the customer to pay them.
What if my order says delivered but I never received it?
We are very sorry to hear this. Please check with a neighbor to see if they may have received your package by mistake - if not, please contact your local post office!
Please note we are not responsible for replacing or refunding any packages that are marked as delivered unless you opt in for our ShipAid protection. ShipAid does not apply to any late or delayed packages at the fault of the post office.
What if I entered the wrong address by mistake?
Please contact us immediately with your name and order ID using our Contact form or at contact@writteninthestarsjewelry.com to correct your address prior to shipment. Unfortunately if your order was already shipped out (usually within 24 hours), we are not responsible for replacing or refunding your order.
Please also note we are not responsible for replacing or refunding any packages that are marked as delivered.
Returns & Exchanges
Can I return my jewelry?
Yes - you may request a return within 14 days of delivery if your jewelry is in unworn condition, with its original packaging, and undamaged (please note that our authentic gems vary in appearance and may have natural inclusions and this does not qualify as a reason for a refund/return).

After a request is approved, we will send you an email with a shipping label to print out. Please securely package your item and drop it off at a USPS office near you. Refunds are initiated once the item is received and will exclude your original shipping fee (if you paid for shipping). A return shipping cost of 7.95 will be deducted from your refund.

Can I exchange my ring if it does not fit?

How do I proceed with an international return?
Returns must be initiated within the 14 day delivery window and must be in unworn condition, in its original packaging, and not damaged (please note that our authentic gems vary in appearance and may have natural inclusions and this does not qualify as a reason for a refund/return).
After a return request is approved, we will provide you with a return address. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs as well as the safe delivery of the item. Please make sure your package is secure when returning your order - we are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items during transit. Refunds are initiated once the item is received and will exclude your original shipping fee (if you paid for shipping).
If a customs declaration form is required, please be sure to mark the goods as "Returned Item" to ensure that no additional customs fees are incurred. In the instance that an item is incorrectly marked and a customs fee is incurred, the item will be returned to the sender.

When will I receive my refund?
Refunds are initiated once we receive your return in its original condition. Refunds should reach your bank account within 3-7 business days depending on your bank.
Materials & Packaging
What will I receive as packaging in my order?
**Our book shaped boxes are sold separately!** We take pride in having a magical and beautiful unboxing experience like no other. All of our pieces are shipped inside of our branded navy-blue corrugated mailer boxes speckled with white stars and filled with magic. Packaging includes our sliding drawer ring/jewelry boxes with ribbon and our magnetic box with a velvet insert tied beautifully with a champagne bow. These magnetic boxes are typically included with rings, ring sets or when you purchase a ring bundle. Sliding drawer boxes are given with earrings, necklaces, and necklace/earring sets based on availability. Our beautiful branded gift boxes are also for sale!
What is Moissanite?
Moissanite is made from meteorites - or rather, a naturally occurring silicon carbide that is found in meteorites - which means they are almost quite literally made of stardust! Moissanites are almost as hard as diamonds (9.2-9.5 versus 10 on the Mohs hardness scale), less expensive, and have more "fire" than diamonds. They have a beautiful rainbow sparkle when light shines on them as opposed to a white sparkle from diamonds. They have a brilliant sparkle to them and are often mistaken for diamonds.
Our gems are GIA certified (the Gemological Institute of America) - meaning they are tested and authentic. The GIA uses 4 established principles, famously known as the '4Cs', to test the authenticity of diamonds and gemstones. These principles include 1. Cut 2. Clarity 3. Color 4. Carat Weight. Please feel free to have any of our gems tested!
All of our gemstones are authentic unless otherwise stated and labelled as simulated.
Are your gemstones authentic?
Yes! The majority of our gems are authentic, natural, Earth-made gems! We do, however, carry a few simulated gemstones that are also gorgeous! Each piece is properly labelled so if you are uncertain about a piece of our jewelry, check the description. We also carry a few lab gemstones (such as our Lab Star Sapphire) which are real gems - they have the same chemical makeup and properties of natural gems.
Please feel free to have any of our gems tested for authenticity! Crystals will be labelled as "Simulated" if they are not authentic gems.
What materials do you use for your jewelry?
Our jewelry is made from a range of precious metals, including the following: nickel free 925 Sterling Silver, plated 925 Sterling Silver (Rhodium plated or White Gold plated), 14k Rose Gold Vermeil, 14k Gold Vermeil, 14k Black Gold plated, and 10k Gold Vermeil. Gold vermeil is 925 Sterling Silver plated in real gold, and this coating is 50% thicker than traditional gold-plated pieces as opposed to regular gold plating which is thinner and over a lower quality base metal, such as copper. We also carry some pieces in 316L Stainless Steel, which is also hypoallergenic and nickel free, as well as tarnish resistant.
Will your jewelry tarnish or turn my skin green?
Jewelry crafted with precious metals such as 925 Sterling Silver do not turn your finger green - however, any jewelry made with copper such as 925 Sterling Silver can tarnish slightly over time and this is normal for natural metals. This tarnish can potentially leave behind a dark mark on your skin but can easily be washed away with mild soap and warm water.
Don't worry - tarnish can also be wiped away from your ring with a jewelry polishing cloth and your piece will be shining just like new!
Stainless Steel is another material we use that does not tarnish or turn your skin green!
Any side effect caused by the natural properties found in our jewelry is temporary, unavoidable, and not valid for a refund since this is natural. Please note that gold and rose gold plating comes off naturally over time and your rings will eventually need to be re-plated by a local jeweler- however with proper care, these platings can last for many years.
Does gold and rose gold plating last?

For the absolute longest lasting ring color with minimal effort, regular rhodium silver plated Sterling Silver pieces are the way to go! Please note we do not offer re-plating services at this time.
What gems do you currently offer?
We currently offer Moonstone, Moss Agate, Black Rutilated Quartz, Sky Blue Topaz, Alexandrite, Peridot, Garnet, Amethyst, Opal, Black Opal, Sapphire, Moissanite, Blue Sandstone, Morganite, Simulated Diamonds/5A Cubic Zirconia, and Nano Crystals. We also offer shell! See our current selection under "Shop By: Gem" to sort by the stone you are looking for.
What ring sizes do you offer?
We currently offer whole sizes 4-13 (US Standard ring sizes) as well as adjustable rings. We currently do not offer half-sizes.
Sustainability
Where are your gemstones from?
Our gems are sourced responsibly and ethically from around the globe! Most of our stones are from India, the United States, China, Brazil, Australia, and Ethiopia.
Where are your pieces created?
Our gems are sourced from around the globe but are mainly hand-crafted locally by skilled jewelers in Jaipur, India - known as the home of the Moonstone and a greatly established source of authentic, high-quality gemstones.
Do you ship in recyclable packaging?
Yes! Our shipping boxes are crafted of cardboard and our polymailers are also biodegradable! While our ring and jewelry boxes are not made of recycled materials, we try to limit our carbon footprint as much as possible.
