  • Opal (Hydrophane Opal)

    ❌ Avoid humidity and water

❌ Avoid contact with any chemicals, chlorine, and lotions

✅ Wipe gently with a soft microfiber cloth.

✅ Store in a dry, airtight container away from other jewelry

Natural Opal, or Hydrophane Opal, is naturally porous and absorbs water as well as other liquids. Liquid, along with humidity and sudden changes in temperature can permanently crack and damage your Opal as well as alter its color permanently. When exposed to humidity or submerged in water, gently wipe your Opal off with a soft microfiber cloth and store for at least 24 hours in a small cup of rice. This will help absorb the water and return your Opal back to its original color - however this can still alter your Opal's play of color and cause cracks over time.
